Golden A' Design Award Winning Landscape Proves Corporate Infrastructure Can Double as Brand Demonstration
The campus water features that visitors admire also filter contaminants from factory sewage.
The most striking element of the Longking Pro Environmental Campus is something visitors might never guess: that elegant water channel running through the central quad actively processes sewage from office buildings. Ballistic Architecture Machine, the Beijing, Shanghai, and New York based design office behind the project, refused to hide infrastructure underground. On 54,000 square meters of former farmland in Fujian Province, China, the design team created a landscape where biofiltration wetlands look like contemplative gardens, where membrane bioreactors sit beside basketball courts, and where every water feature performs genuine environmental work. The result challenges assumptions about what corporate campuses can accomplish. The Longking campus integrates beauty and utility so thoroughly that distinguishing one from the other becomes impossible.
